Defending class interests in Scotland

As a Republican Socialist I welcome the ongoing struggle for Scottish independence as a process to secure more democracy for Scotland. However the Scottish Socialist Freedom Group rejects any opportunism from others claiming to represent similar views. The fact is a republican socialist analysis is essential when considering any campaign for independence for Scotland.

In short the struggle for independence in Scotland cannot be separated from the struggle for socialism and therefore anything short of the Scottish Workers Republic is not supportable.

We should not and will not betray our class interests and right to defend our class from capitalism and London inspired imperialism.

Nationalist elements who represent their own narrow agenda should realise that a more egalitarian independent Scotland is not good enough we require to build the socialist model in a Scottish Workers Republic and fight our corner in the world in a new a classless society.

The only organisation in Scotland with a true agenda for the Scottish Workers Republic is the Scottish Socialist Freedom Group .
